Exploring careers

Careers at kaleidscope

Through our Careers Programme that is underpinned by the Gatsby Benchmarks, a framework that defines the best careers provision in schools and colleges, we aim to:

  • To support the development of skills to prepare children for the  transition to life beyond school
  • Support children in making informed decisions which are appropriate for  them
  • Provide children with well-rounded experiences
  • Develop essential skills such as communication, independence and  resilience
  • Inspire and motivate children to develop themselves as individuals and live  as independently as is possible
  • Promote lifelong learning
  • Involve parents or carers where appropriate

SPring 2025

This half term we met Callum, a junior soldier, who came down from Harrogate to speak to us about life in the army and also to give us the experience of a PT session! We enjoyed asking Callum our questions and then going outside to learn how to march.

Thank you so much for coming Callum.

"I want to be a PE teacher"

This half term one of our learners raised they'd like to be a PE teacher when they are older! We discussed lesson planning,  activities and how to ensure engagement in a lesson. J planned a lovely lesson for the children at our other school site and delivered it like a pro! He'll continue to do this weekly with new ideas. This will feed into a young leader award and hopefully start a pathway for him.
